Friday, October 30: Ox Roast Vigil

  • Grenette: Grilled sausages, pea soup, and Saint Martin cakes. Pre-sale of beef/gratin portions.

  • Public opening of the Caveau de la Saint-Martin (Rue des Deux-Marchés 3) & Caveau des Cents Suisses

  • Musical entertainment under the Grenette, by La Lyre and Tuna Helvetica.
  • Bar and musical entertainment until 10pm

  • Ox Roast Vigil - cooking on site by our butcher/griller partners

Saturday, October 31: Fair Day

 

From 7am
  • Announcement of the Fair with the Fifres and Drums of Basel (from 7am).
  • Opening of the stalls spread between the Old Town and the Market Square.
  • Tasting & blind test of alpine cheeses as part of the "Vaudois Alpine Cheese Competition," near the Grenette.
9am - Attention new schedule!
  • Departure of the traditional Grand Cortège with farm animals through the city center (from Entre-Deux-Villes) with the participation of His Excellency Saint-Martin, the Vaud Mounted Militias and Musketeers with drums, the Fifres and Drums of Basel, classes from the Schools of Vevey, etc.

  • Opening of the cantine - Grilled sausages.
10:00am
  • Ceremony of the Brotherhood of St-Martin, notably: Proclamation of the opening of the Fair, speech from the Brotherhood, message from the Authorities, from the godmother, sharing of St-Martin's cloak, induction of new Sisters and Brothers.
    - In front of the del Castillo Hall -
  • Opening of the "Nonnettes Workshops" at our partner the Alimentarium.
  • Opening of the Camera Minutera.
11am - 1pm
  • Public opening of the Saint-Martin Wine Cellar (Rue des Deux-Marchés 3) & the Wine Cellar of the Hundred Swiss.

  • Demonstration of the milking of cows (towards the animal tent).

  • Return parade of the animals via the Perdonnet quay

  • The 4-o'clock of Saint-Martin, at the Rivage Galleries, with animations

  • Proclamation of the results of the "Vaudois Alpine Cheese Competition."

  • Closing of the Fair.

Sunday, November 1st: Saint Martin's Brunch

In partnership with Vaud Promotion, the Brotherhood of Saint Martin is pleased to offer you the SAINT MARTIN LOCAL BRUNCH at the Galeries du Rivage!

Doors open at 11:15 AM, brunch from 11:30 AM to 3 PM

Returnable tableware will be used in our cafeterias. Donate the amount of your deposit!

Heating

We will no longer install gas heating, dress warmly!

Expect traffic disruptions during the Fair. Use public transportation!

The Fair takes place whatever the weather!

Payment on site

Cash/cards/twint at the stands managed by the Confrérie. Each stand then has its own payment solutions.

WC

Public toilets available at Place Scanavin or Jardin du Rivage.
